whaddya mean unproductive?? lower rates === more credit == more economic activity.

Joe Blow who makes widgets, gets to keep making them for another 4-5 months and borrow more money to buy some other kind of widget.

Someone else makes that widget and he gets to keep his job for another 5 month borrowing a little bit more ...

and when it's done we can all go and live in the house that Al built. <s>
