[BCTEL]

<<<Any one care to comment on the GTE's strtagic role in the choices made by their subsidiaries.>>>

I was told by BCTEL that they took their mandate from GTE. I was also told other telcos were studying their successes and failures. It's not unusual for one company to piggy-back on another's trials. It happens in other industries. It happens in telecommunications.

Let me tell you, I'm in a good mood. <G>

BTW, don't worry about these little Canadian telcos going with FlexCap first. SaskTel did it, too. They began with CAP and added Amati later -- not even sure if they've hooked them up yet. They all belong to Sympatico and all want to offer high-speed services. These guys are responsive to their markets. At least in Canada, speed is in.

Just my take.

Cheers!

Pat
