What soldiers tanks, aircraft ect. we had at the time of the offensive I am talking about didn't matter because we didn't use them, or even send the South fresh ammo and replacement parts. The North Vietnames OTOH got ship and trainloads from the Russians and the Chinese.

Because it was their country, and self determination will always eventually win.

When the North Vietnamese army invaded the south it was an imposition of military force, not an exercise in self determination of South Vietnam.

Iraq is far tougher than Vietnam, there are a lot more factions.

Its nowhere near as tough. There is nothing like the NVA, and there is no superpower support for our enemies. Also it appears that insurgents are less numerous and have the support of a smaller percentage of the population.

They just want us out, so they can get on with their history and their future. We should oblige them.

The Baathists and Jihadis want us out so they can impose their vision on Iraq. The majority of Iraqis want us out but not right away. The Iraqis don't want the Baathist or Jihadis to win. I don't see any reason why we should oblige the Baathist and or the Jihadis.
