>>I wish to educate people about a given investment and allow them to decide. I have enough of a challenge managing my own money, let alone make investment recommendations to people I do not know.
This is kind of an unusual thread, Ausdauer. Many of us have been posting to each other for Internet months, which I think comes out to real time years, have gotten to know each other on investment and personal levels, traded phone calls, revealed personal successes and failures, and openly revealed our allocations. If we find something of value, we try to share it. We have become an investment club focused around a common strategy, the Gorilla Game. Getting investment recommendations from strangers is not unusual; every time you read an analyst's report, it is a suggestion from a stranger to do something, but you never know the analysts' motives. Here there is no pump and dump going on; we just share our thoughts freely with our friends/threadmates.
>>Unfortunately, participation in a supportive thread like this one, as comforting as it may be, does not guarantee success
Nothing can guarantee success, but our pooling of insights has been a great advantage. Go back about 500 posts and see how we worked together to identify qcom as an emerging Gorilla.
I'd suggest you read the primer (the Gorilla Game) if you haven't already done so, and then lurk the thread for a while to see if our style suits your sensibilities. Some of us feel it's the best site on the Silicon Investor, but it's definitely not for everyone.
