You are right if you mean order confirmations, it still takes them a lot of time - sometimes many hours to confirm trades. Now even e-mail trades are not confirmed immediately and sometimes, they even do not confirm by e-mail.

But nevertheless: Their system usually runs quite acceptable AND what is important: Trades you put into their system are in the Stock Exchange's system noramally within the same minute!
Yesterday I followed some of my orders I put with Ameritrade on the Real Time Quotes at JB Oxford and I found out that my orders were nearly immediately activ (e.g. as new bid price).

Also their E-mail support works good, compared with Datek and Suretrade even very good.

So what remains: trade confirmations, for day traders a very important itme, for the big rest of investors something they can live with for a while.
