I've used, and talked about here, Expertlive, the tech support help service that features the expert being able to take over your computer from, say, Calcutta or Taiwan or Duluth (it's surreal). Formerly, you would post your problem and the various online experts (whose cv's and histories of recommendations are available) would bid against each other to get you to choose them. I just got this email explaining that they have been acquired by Tech24 and now have a flat fee ($11.95 per "resolved question").
As of December 14, we will no longer be operating ExpertLive. We will continue to provide our other award-winning products, GoToMyPC™ (www.gotomypc.com), which allows you to access your PC from any computer with an Internet connection, and DesktopStreaming™ (www.desktopstreaming.com), an online support solution for businesses.
ExpertLive has been acquired by Tech24, which has been the top provider of support on our site for several months. Tech24 will continue to provide you with quality one-on-one technical support via our unique screen-sharing technology. One significant change is that there will be no more bidding for services! Simply post your question - all resolved questions will only be $11.95. Please be sure to re-register after December 14 with Tech24 to receive the same great service you have come to expect. You can do so by visiting expertcity.com
