@SYH " Do you expect AMD to spike up when barc is announced as available to OEM's ? "
From a TA perspective AMD looks near term massivly oversold. I expect at least some reversal. And I can't rule out, that AMD gets some (good) press, when K10 will be finally launched. I think most people will not understand whats really going on, thats why they only trade headlines, but doesn't really understand the big topic. I think AMD could also get some fresh press for the ATI Apple win. I think its a good win, no question, but people should ask, how many units Apple will sell. Because ATI is not in the complete lineup, we could realisticly expect 500K in the first move - thats not much, when you think about low-end stuff. As said, I expect some ATI reversal in this quarter, which will show nice Rev. progress, but op-wise, nothing big will change here. Furthermore we could get some good IT press, when HP and DELL will do their calls - I expect good earnings from both. Thats not a bad sentiment environment for CPU stocks and Nvidia will also come out this week. So, I'm not turning my AMD sentiment in a single way, but some overall market prospects could lift many (SOX) stocks, this will help AMD too, also when its still way overpriced. Second, I revise somewhat my overall bearish stock sentiment. The whole subprime theme is not over, but the news-flow is so big, that most of the bad press seems out. I thought that this would drive the overall market to much lower levels, but it seems, that mostly bankstocks really went down. I'm turning to cautiously bullish for the short term.
