Well, I complain how all this was missing and then all this shows up. But I still am not impressed Quad.

If anyone was looking for all this info 1+ hours prior to the conference start they would have likely gave up and never returned.

Also, the CIO Forum in San Fransisco was not a secret. Novell should have built up anticipation and excitment on the Corp. Home page by having a big banner Sep. 14th countdown and made it a big advertisement of NetWare 5's arrival.

I still am not impressed at the foreplay on this event. It could have been much better promoted so that the industry was waiting for this day.

I watched most of the Keynote addresses. It was great to see the big-wigs from Compaq, Oracle, Dell, and Intel speak, but much of the message from Compaq and Intel sounded more like an advertisement for their products than promoting the power of NetWare 5.

At least MSFT so far hasnt made some kind of important "Good News" announcement that would have stolen Novell's big day. I was expecting it. Disappointed in MSFT - they must be getting soft in their marketing savvy techniques.

So now lets see how the industry press perceives the CIO event. We should hear the results over the next 2-5 days.

Sorry that I sound a bit negative Quad, but I wasnt as impressed as I could have been. A CIO sitting there may not have been convinced how Novell would be a safe technology to continue to deploy or begin to deploy. Something is missing - not sure what.
