re: I think sometimes you have to consider views differently than from your own demographic perspective. And recognize that an Asian just might think the USA was worse back in the old days because they were arresting Japanese decendents. Don't get so locked into your own demographic perspective, that you don't see another groups perspective.

Always a good point. And in that spirit, that Asian shouldn't get so "locked up" in their own demographic that they fail to see that torturing Muslims represents a breakdown of our moral values, just as the Japanese internment did.
