Squetch, I take it BPD is broncho pulmonary dysplasia (or a spelling close enough to this). Bennet's question makes sense and I do not know if neonates' lungs have catalase; either way I would expect H2O2 to be less toxic than O2- (superoxide); so SOD may do some good.

BPD is a growing problem and one of its most serious associated conditions is RSV infection. I've been looking into that aspect via my interest in MedImmune (MEDI), which completed a phase III trial recently for use of an Ab for prevention of RSV infection in premature and in BPD children.

I will look some more into SOD.
