Why Kerry has to run on his four months VN service:

Over the last three decades, he's been for the nuclear freeze movement, for massive defense cuts, and for subordinating the US military to the UN. He voted against the Gulf War and voted to cut intelligence spending sharply after the WTC bombing in 1993. He supported appeasement of No. Korea.

Only in the last few years after he'd developed the plan to run for President in 2004, did he try to moderate his stance on issues. Since then he voted for the Patriot Act and for the resolution authorizing the current Iraq war. He even voted for Bush's education reform bill and the first set of tax cuts.

These positions are just intended to fool voters about what he is. In his heart, he's still the anti-defense, anti-intelligence, appease our enemies liberal he's always been.

Though not elected, he's already sent signals to the Iranian mullahs that he'll take the pressure off and to the Iraqi resistance that he'll give in and run after a token 6 months in office. Don't think for a minute, our enemies in the ME haven't noticed this. He is strengthening their resolve and yes, by doing so, undercutting our troops in the field.

Just like he did in 1971, btw.
