THe Democrats started Social Security and most Republicans voted against it at the time. The Republicans are trying to create a situation that will justify the unraveling of SS. IF they spend this country into oblivion, which they are doing right now, then they will have to reduce benefits. If they do that then they will try to make up for it by creating individual investment accounts claiming. They will sucker people into thinking they will make money...truth is the investment advisors will tack on fees and swindle millions of people out of their money as they advise them to go into stocks that are about to tank. They can ether up the general public with stories about how we need to spend on defense and Iraq while they redistribute the money to their corporate friends..........I won't be one of the suckers that believe them
