Scott: I would be a lot happier with the CCC project if a hardware based JAVA interpreter were a part of the package, if not a JAVA specific processor. Rockwell gets a tip of the hat for coming in first. Note that this thing came out of their avionics/communications not from the Brooktree semiconductor guys. Rockwell didn't do this just for fun. They have a huge potential market locked up. From the Wall Street Journal: "At Rockwell's avionics unit, the chip is being considered for use in advanced aircraft-cockpit systems". Also mentioned possible applications in "advanced cellular phones and pagers to Internet televisions and portable computers." Does Corel have a surprise market lined up for the VNC? DEC helping? Meanwhile I keep seeing the advertised prices for SmartSuite 97 coming down. Checked some ads in Computer Shopper over the weekend. FOCUS on the Suite. When Wordperfect becomes the market leader the time will come for gambling at the bleeding edge casino. Leo
