Excerpt from today's NY Times on Romney's 'vision' for healthcare reform...

"Mr. Romney would not maintain two of the most popular provisions of Mr. Obama’s law — letting children under 26 stay on their parents’ health insurance and prohibiting insurers from denying coverage to first-time customers with pre-existing medical conditions. Mr. Romney does say that he would guarantee coverage for people with pre-existing conditions if they have been “insured in the past.”

Aides to Mr. Romney said he opposed requiring private insurers to accept all customers — known as “guaranteed issue,” a pillar of the Affordable Care Act — because it goes hand in glove with the federal mandate to buy insurance."
