Arno,

I am in complete agreement with your interpretation. In fact, I would go one step further by saying that there was perhaps a little too much "wishful thinking" on the part of Intel's strategic marketing in over-exposing Europe with high-margin, low-end classical Pentiums. I suspect the same thing was done to China and other emerging countries, but was rebuffed at the market place.

On the other hand, I think it is unfair for outsiders like us to critique or second guess Intel's business strategy--afterall, the global market (especially at the crossroads of major product transitions) is an extremely mercurial one and difficult to predict. Being a great company and true survivor, Intel has been NEARLY flawless in the roadmapping of its present and future products thus far.

Regards,
Ibexx
