Look at it this way: If you were given $60 billion by thousands of people for safekeeping, do you really believe that you could find a way to lose that $60B without the compliance of thousands of others? Just not possible! Thousands in the "dollar distribution channels", be they Madoff's accountants, bankers, brokers, bakers or candle stick makers" had to know what was going on. $60 B disappears and no one but Madoff is corrupt? Just not so!
