I have asked my friend at BC Tel and he said he cannot disclose this info now because the rates are in front of the regulators for approval. But, he said it will be competitive with existing alternatives. Our Cable company (Rogers Commmunication) is offereing in some areas in greater Vancouver their "Wave" scheme for $55 (Canadian dollars= about $40 US) per month. This includes the modem rental and the internet connection. So you do not need your internet provider where you pay $20-$30 dollars for much lower speeds. You also do not need a separate phone line (with another $20 per month cost). The initial installation cost is $150, but presently, there is a promotion where you pay only $50 for the cable people to come to your place to do the wiring and the installation.

Once I find out, the BC Tel rates, I will post them here.
