In order to increase the market for PC's, the prices need to continue to drop. As low priced computers offer more and more it makes less and less sense to buy high priced PC's. In this way Intel could be beaten by the low end/ low margin just as Sun could be beaten by Intel. Intel's existence is not in jeopardy no matter what happens, although it's 60+ % profit margins may be in jeopardy. But as I see it, Sun's very existence is doomed either way, by the combination of what will be more powerful AND cheaper processors and an even more developed and widespread NT.
