John:

I currently use an IBM special-order keyboard (for my Compaq) that has the "general feel" of the Thinkpad keyboard.

It is also of the smaller size (with no keypad). It recall paying around $179 for it. It also has integrated trackpad mouse (but I don't use that.) Instead, I use an IBM scrollpoint mouse. It makes surfing the Internet much easier, because it has another eraser head Trackpoint style button on it. Makes scrolling up and down through pages easy (you don't have to move the mouse into the scroll region).

I prefer the smaller keyboards anyway, as my desk can use all the space it can get.

I have never tried the Lexmark keyboards, but would be willing to try one, especially if their keys are like those on the Thinkpads.

I too do not like the Compaq keyboard that came with my LCD all-in-one. Hated the backspace key taking up half of my space bar.

Actually, I think Apple makes great keyboards, and would use one in a minute if they made them work with PCs. The split-keyboard Apple USED to make is great, and we still have one for the Macintosh.

Have also tried many smaller, wireless keyboards. But they were too small and bothered my shoulders.

Doug
