Relax. This may make it a tough week for eBay's stock price, particularly with their secondary offering, but I doubt eBay will ever be Amazoned like Barnes & Noble or CDNow. Remember the deal eBay just cut with AOL last week? EBay is a huge Internet power in its own right, and I don't think Amazon has expectations of becoming the #1 auction site soon if ever. Yahoo certainly doesn't. One thing this one-sentance release does is freeze the market...an old Microsoft ploy. The smaller etailers can forget their auction plans now.
