As self-installs become more prevelant, more people would opt to get a cable ready PC, thus alleviating many of the problems.

It would help! I forsee a time when PCMIA cards are routinely isntalled just like 56K modems became routinely installed.

But I don't think network problems are caused by installing the wrong computer card. You couldn't plug in the cable modem if that were the case. Its the curb-to-basement-to-hole in floor-upstairs-study connection that would be the problem for self-installers.

See, I know the what, I just don't know the when <g>.
