Xybernaut Introduces Atigo S and Announces Enhancements to Atigo Product Platform

Greater Flexibility and Usability; Expanded Line of Accessories; More Configuration and Performance Options Now Available
FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2005-- Xybernaut® Corporation (Nasdaq:XYBR - News) today introduced the Atigo® S -- a new addition to the Atigo platform of products. Atigo is a line of mobile/wearable computers designed for dual use as a wireless flat panel display (FPD) or a stand-alone wireless-enabled computing or communications device.

With the introduction of the Atigo S and the announcement of several additional enhancements, the Atigo product family becomes an even more flexible and attractive mobile computing option for a wide variety of business or consumer applications.
Flexibility is Critical
All Atigo products support dual-use functions and are configured with built-in IEEE 802.11b/g/a WLAN wireless networking support through standard PC Card and or Compact Flash (CF) port-card slots. The Atigo S adds two newer port-card slot options including miniPCI for integrated wireless connectivity and integrated hard disk drives at 20 and 40GB. These new options allow users to choose from four standard configurations. This flexibility can be a critical factor in deploying the Atigo as a standard computing platform while supporting many different types of mobile employees and/or job functions.
The Atigo S is powered by an Advanced Micro Devices Geode(TM) GX2 533 CPU. Flash memory options for the Atigo platform include 64, 128, 256, 512MB and 1, 2, and 4GB. Flexibility of the Atigo directly relates to the ability to support a wide variety of operating systems and software.
Broad Operating System and Software Support
Atigo products utilize industry standard Microsoft® and LINUX operating systems. Currently supported OS options include Windows® CE.NET, CE.NET 5, XP Embedded SP2, XP Professional SP2, LINUX Embedded and SUSE LINUX.
Atigo products are built-to-order and are typically shipped pre-configured with software and applications specifically chosen by the customer. Other customization features can include design elements, such as use of corporate logos and colors, or configuration aspects, such as computing features and application support.
Xybernaut also offers support from its wholly-owned solutions company (XSI) to directly assist enterprise customers in determining the most effective and efficient way to deploy Xybernaut systems including Atigo products. This support can be in the form of WiFi site analysis, deployment management, application management and strategies to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Enhanced Power Management
Atigo products have internal rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries with optional hot-swappable external batteries. Atigo S adds increased power management with optional internal batteries that double the use-time of the Atigo. Atigo products can easily operate for a typical eight hour shift using hot-swappable battery options. Combining the hot-swappable feature with an array of optional extended batteries will allow Atigo units to run virtually non-stop.
Enhanced Display Technologies
All Atigo products share the same measurements -- 7.9 x 9.4 inches -- with a weight of less than two pounds (including extended battery), which is less than most competitive tablets or laptops.
All Atigo products have touch-screen enabled TFT displays with 800 x 600 SVGA resolution. All Atigo products also incorporate Xybernaut all-light readable display technologies that make Atigo one of the most versatile mobile-wireless product families for field force automation and related applications such as wireless/mobile sales support or customer relationship management. Recent "High Bright" enhancements for the Atigo T will also be available for the Atigo S.
All Atigo products have multimedia features including a built-in 16-bit sound microphone/speaker; stereo headphone jack; and enhanced support for multimedia.
A wide variety of accessory options are available for all Atigo products including an external 9-cell battery; a four-bay 9-cell battery charger (great for organizations with multiple Atigo users in one location or on the same shift), AC chargers, vehicle chargers with high temperature features, facility and vehicle mounting cradles; wireless keyboard/mouse options; and a variety of soft-goods for wearability and ergonomics.
