i find the IM feature to be a bit on the intrusive side. one of my isp's is aol, and i've had plenty of exposure to the capabilities it offers. i know that you can set controls, etc, but all in all, i would probably spend way too much time with buds online if i kept it in place. in the past, i've had people i didn't know interrupt my trading (or whatever) to ask questions. some spam comes through. and other undesirable communications. mainly, however, i just came across the method for removing the little AIM icon, and knew that there were folks looking for such a fix. that's why i put it here. it's not a case of me being super opposed to the feature. :) mark
