Ask yourself a basic question: If conservative ideas are more fundamently acceptable to American Society, why are republicans not only losing, but getting destroyed at every level of electoral politics? Could it be Americans don't favor conservative principles? I reject this conclusion. Could it be that Republicans have strayed so far from conservative principles that voters who might otherewise favor such principles can't recognize themselves in the republican mantra? Do you believe in smaller federal government? In fiscal integrity and balanced budgets? In less intrusion into private lives? To belief in individual decisionmaking power? I do. George Bush and John McCain don't. (check their voting records and how they have governed). What do you think conservatism stands for?
