Do you suppose, if Bush (or any president) decided to disobey a ruling of the Supreme Court, that the US people would stand for it? Congress has two powerful checks on the President -- the power of the purse, and the power to impeach. The people elect the Congress. Congress is the voice of the people. If you think the rest of the American people feel the same way you do about the Supreme Court, you're living in an echo chamber.
