All the sovereign nations in the world that we interact with politically, economically, culturally, socially, academically and militarily. Even in the most "isolated" areas of the US, international players have a noticeable impact on our lives. Most in the US aspire to have a leadership role in that community. To do so, you have to be aware what the other players consider important and take it into account. The era of unilateralism and ad hoc coalitions is just about done. It's no way to do business in the 21st century.
