Lindybill: Under what circumstances should you agree to a CABG? [Coronary artery bypass graft?]

Dr Davis: Indications for bypass surgery are actually fairly straightfoward:

1) Left mainstem stenosis of 50% or greater

2) Three-vessel disease with left ventricular dysfunction

The gray area. however, is still fairly substantial, e.g., unstable symptoms with stenoses (blockages) that can not be stented for technical reasons, "left main equivalent" (proximal left anterior descending and circumflex stenoses), and some others.

The key, of course, is to attack your program and not even reach any of these standard indications.
