In short, a candidate should never betray the core theory of his campaign, or head down a road that leads to that betrayal. Barack Obama doesn’t have an impressive record of experience or a unique policy profile. New politics is all he’s got. He loses that, and he loses everything. Every day that he looks conventional is a bad day for him.

If you add to that any drip, drip of info coming out of the Resko trial - how big was the favor on that house deal? where did Resko get the money, since he told the Feds he was in debt for $50 million? Nadmi Auchi, did you say? The Iraqi billionaire who did all those dodgy deal with Elf and Saddam Hussein and Oil-for-Food?

If people start thinking that Obama is just an ordinary Chicago pol, getting favors like rest, he's really in deep doo-doo.
