Spam.....

I had always read, heard, and believed that if you made any kind of response to spam, even if it was to ask for removal from their list, that you had just verified your e-mail address for them and the spam would continue.

Gradually the spam grew until I was receiving 80 to 100 junk e-mails every day. I had nothing to lose by trying something else.

I started scrolling to the bottom of each message, clicking on the "remove" or "unsubscribe" links, and asking to be taken off their lists. Most suggested 7 to 10 days would be required.

I kept it up for 2 weeks. Yesterday, I got 7 spams. Today, it was 3. Seems to be working. Maybe the conventional wisdom was wrong. Or, maybe they're all off for the holidays. VBG.
