The Mahavishnu Project to Tour The Mahavishnu Project has announced that it will tour this fall. The band performs the music of John McLaughlin and The Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Birds of Fire" & "Inner Mounting Flame" in its entirety. The line-up features Gregg Bendian (Pat Metheny/Ornette Coleman) on drums, Miki Navazio (Lounge Lizards/Either Orchestra) on guitar, Steve Hunt (Allan Holdsworth/Billy Cobham) on keyboards, Todd Reynolds (Sting/Jon Anderson)on violin and Kermit Driscoll (Bill Frisell/Vernon Reid) on bass. This fall The Mahavishnu Project plans to record its shows for an upcoming live album, due out in 2001.
