That being said, now I absolutely believe compromise is possible. Unfortunately you work from the premise that compromise is impossible.

Unlike you I don't believe in faith-based premises. I look to see what both sides are telling me. When one side is not only saying that compromise isn't possible, but is getting crazier and more radical by the year, and is busy teaching its kindergardeners that Jews are all thieves and murderers who must be destroyed, I don't run around insisting that compromise must nevertheless be possible, just has to be!

I say that conditions aren't ripe for diplomacy. If Hamas recognizes Israel's existence, or the Arab League moves beyond posturing to actual negotiations with actual Israelis, I'll change my mind. I don't think these very minimal conditions are too much to ask.
