Although admittedly not anything near an expert, I think there is more to this than simple bandwidth. You have to have the switching and ability to get the bandwidth to the consumer. Qwest apparently has the infrastructure in place to do this.

Its kind of like having a big pipe with small valves at the end. If the valves are not sized for the amount the pipe can move, whats the point of having a big pipe?

Also I would argue that this extra bandwidth will soon be used as more and more programs, such a video streaming, start to come on line to use it. Its like the PC, when the Pentium and such came out, it wasn't long before programs came out to use the power. If you didn't have a
Pentium, you could run them, but they were real slow.
