I agree. The chance of being out of a stock when it begins to rocket is too much to take. Also of consideration for those who have held long and have a fairly substantial holding is the tax difference - long term gains vs. short term gains at a higher tax rate. Better to keep holding until it goes higher and also realize the lower taxes on long-term gains. Maybe a lot of the wet-behind-the ears daytraders don't realize it, but the taxman is going to get his bite in. For some it will be a shock. Better to make it as small as possible via long-term gains.
