Paul on your question on when to sell.
I find IBD very helpful here and also when to jump in. If you track the
Relitive strengh when it starts droping it is VERY close to the time to
get out. Like wise when you see a good rise in it on a stock your
tracking that is a good indication that the bottom has been hit. Not
perfect but I've found it helps.
