The point I was trying to make, is that although you believe the bible to be God's word, ,many people believe just as fervently that other books are just as correct and just as holy.
It doesn't even matter who is right. They have every right to hold dear their beliefs, just as you have every right to hold dear yours. When calling these books trash, you create an environment wherein people are hurt and sometimes spiteful. That creates a desire in some, to strike back and then pretty soon you have an escalation of words and sometimes even more.
That doesn't even begin to address the fact that I am sure you would not like to have others call the Bible trash. A Muslim, upon hearing your words, would have every right to do just that. It doesn't matter that you feel the Koran is errant. He feel s just as strongly that it is inerrant, and that you are being disrespectful. His words about the bible would be no less disrespectful.
