Coherent Cancellers Aid BT Quality Drive In $2M Contract
ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 1998--Coherent Communications Systems (NASDAQ:CCSC - news), the leading international specialist in echo cancellation and voice enhancement technology, has won contracts valued in excess of $2 million to supply its leading edge EC-6000 Series 2 Digital Echo Cancellers to BT's Digital International Switching Centres (DISC) at Madley and Kelvin. Both sites are being upgraded in line with BT's ongoing modernisation programme, designed to improve quality and increase the overall number of cancellers deployed on BT's international routes.
These latest installations complement BT's investment in Coherent cancellers at one of its other DISC sites - at Kelvin House in London. These involved a total of some 18,000 channels of Coherent echo cancellers, operating with Ericsson AXE 10 switches.
