Nice assessment from Briefing.com: Genuity (GENU) 2.48 +0.09: The capex cuts keep coming; Genuity discloses in an 8-K filing that it is reducing capital spending to $4-5 bln over the 2001-2004 timeframe from the previously planned range of $7-9 bln. The long timeframe over which Genuity is reducing spending should be a reality check for those who believe that telecom equipment spending will rebound smartly in 2002. Evidence from the carriers suggests otherwise.
