If the majority of new lawyers are female, its quite possible that the majority of judges could be female in another generation or two, after awhile the majority of senior judges could be female. Eventually the majority of supreme court judges could be female. Its unlikely to become 8 to 1, but if it does and they really are legitimately seen as the best candidates I don't have a big problem with it. On a body as small as 9 people its quite possible to have all of the best candidates be from one sex or racial group. Even in a much larger group its quite possible to have a strongly disproportionate percentage of the qualified and interested candidates be from one sex or racial group.
