X,
Animals that engage in homosexual behavior, exclusively, live just one generation.
The gene is not passed, and any biological link to that expression of homosexual behavior is terminated.
Again, "normal" is a tricky word. I prefer to label homosexuality as, "Biologically disfunctional". Which without debate, it is.
I try not to judge it. I see no purpose in judging something for the way it "is". I also have no desire to change it. I leave those things up to forces of nature. No one can beat the natural forces, or argue with them.
A personal example. There is a thing I like. It does not matter what it is, its just a thing I like very, very, much. I have expended countless hours of my life to be in a position from time to time to get this thing I like.
Here is the puzzle. Why do I like it? I don't know, and I may never know. The same logic can be directly applied to sexual preference. Who is to say why it is, and who is foolish enough to try and change it in someone?
A waste of time.
So I elect to allow it, and not impose my views of "like" on someone else. Nature is not so kind. Nature may give you this "like", but nature plays by its own rules. And nature says that the goal of life is to make more life. We can dress it up and give the goal of life all kinds of fancy terms, but the bottom line...the goal of life from natures perspective is to make more life. This is "normal" for nature. Homosexuals, without outside support, can not fulfill nature's goal.
Its a harsh reality, but it is reality. Nature judges, not me or you.
