It's not just torture, it's wrongful imprisonment, or any number of crimes that somebody might trump up, such as creating a fearful climate.

I think if water-boarding, or 'stress positions' which result in death, were done to Americans, then they would be considered torture. People in thrall to power are traditionally mindlessly exuberant in their use of it and it seems so natural and right to them that they are entitled to do it and to enjoy it.

Donald Rumsfeld was as happy as a pig in mud - a veritable philosopher king [or close courtier at least], with known knowns along the scale to unknown unknowns.

Terrorists have been great news for politicians, police and everyone else who could contrive to get themselves into some position of bossing people around, strutting around and being important.

Thank goodness for terrorists!

The chances of actually being killed by one are near zero, so it has been a vast gain for Big Brother types, of which there are plenty - all the socialists for example. Such as you. You and King George II have a lot more in common than you think. You are both in the same evil-doers zone.
