Dwight, you're right about insider trading being important.

I just think it's ironic. A CEO is showered with stock options. His (or her) financial advisor tells him to diversify and buy something altogether different on the open market. If a CEO ever buys his own company's stock he will never be able to sell it as long as he's a loyal employee. People interpret any sale by a CEO as bad news. He owns it, but he can't sell it.

Maybe shareholders aren't so smart when they approve stock options for executives?
