Cliff,

Sure there might be another Amati and another timely technology out there, but who cares from an investment perspective. ADSL, regardless of whether or not it is the best technology, is the local loop technology that is going to be deployed by the telcos starting in the very near future, and nothing is going to stop this deployment. Sure the telcos have been incredibly slow and deliberate with commercial deployment of ADSL, but the flip side of this is that it will be awful hard to steer the telcos away from ADSL now.

The only thing I question now is what kind of ADSL will be the most commonly deployed. Although I am an Amati backer, I can't help but feel that Westell is going to get a significant share of the ADSL orders.
