Semi Equipment : North American-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted a book-to-bill ratio of 0.42 in April 2001
(SG Cowen had expected 0.60). This represented a sharp decline from 0.59 in March (revised from 0.64). The CEO of SEMI (which
collects the data) said that the "the severity and depth of this industry correction is unprecedented" and that the book/bill was the lowest in
the past decade.

Goodyear Tire (GT) 30.40 +2.16: Company announces it is implementing plans to ramp up production in response to the
Ford/Firestone news to help consumers get the right tires on their vehicles as quickly as possible. Goodyear this morning announced that
substantial production cutbacks will occur in May and June to reduce finished goods inventories. GT shares up 1.60 after hours to 32.00 ;
