Could you then say that there is plenty of circumstancial evidence of God in the unexplainable "miracles" that have been testified to by millions of Christians and other people of faith?

The problem is that the science of psychology provides plenty of evidence that humans like to believe all sorts of things for which there are no factual basis. The other problem is that the realms of science have been expanding, while those of religion have been shrinking in direct relationship. This has been most evident in the physical world, but now increasingly in the behavioral world as well. So using inductive reasoning on this sweep of historical scientific success would lead to certain conclusions.
