I agree (including on not posting on that thread), but unfortunately the ACA embraces insurance as a payment model, and I see a huge structural problem with that. I know it was done to try and bridge the free market view with universal health coverage, but that won't deal with the structural problem of insurance as a payment mechanism, so I don't see meaningful cost containment.

As I've noted before, the insurance companies are great beneficiaries of the ACA, because although it caps overhead and profits at 20%, it drove the net $ up significantly, and they get 20% of the increased $'s, so everyone is happy!
