Howard, it isn't always important to be the lowest-cost producer. Asian companies are famous for "buying" market share by underpricing their products until their competition folds. If Samsung set up shop as a burger joint and started selling 1/4 pound hamburgers with all the trimmings for $.29 each, how long do you think that McDonalds would be able to hold on to its market share?
