OFF TOPIC!!!

As much as I respect Friedman, I think that the bump will be larger than he invisions (if he sees one at all). He is and was, a maverick, but in a mainstream sort of way. If that makes sense.

I won't personally consider there to be hope at all, until I see our government start seriously cutting taxes, and dealing with Social Security type unfunded liability situations.

And Japan cutting regulation and taxes.

And Europe start to shrink their socialistic bureaucracies.

Even then there will be a very rough time before those logical acts make a difference.

Why? Because steps like that will only be taken during the crisis that is inevitable.

Sadly, when they have the least "short term" positive effect.

As we sit here today total taxes as a % of GDP and personal income are at the highest in history.

Take a look at how much higher the max income level for FICA taxes rises to next year. It's been going up at about 6% per year, and SS recipients get a 1% raise.

Very healthy.

But no one need listen to me. They can just go on leveraging their economic existence and listening to those who say keep all your money in stocks.

(Plus some of their brokers money!)
