I haven't watched the goings-on closely, but all three candidates for President were fawning over Martin Luther King's memory.

I think it demeans him, placing him in the position where his memory is no more than a China card that everybody must have in his or her deck.

Martin Luther King is to be revered as an effective leader, but Martin Luther King Day is the only holdiay dedicated to a single person in our history.

George Washington's Birthday has been watered down to President's Day, where he must share the space with the likes of Bill Clinton.

I don't think this is right at all. Without George Washington and the other Founders, there would be no United States of America. We need a Washington's Birthday celebration.
