McCain finally commented on the Rice VP rumor.

McCain, who has been critical of the Bush administration's handling of Iraq, told reporters that Rice, who was national security adviser during the first year and a half of the conflict, bore some responsibility for the management of the war.

Translation: No chance to be selected as VP.
