A funeral is for the family. Whatever they want is what is "respectful". If the corpse was a nudist in life, and the family wants to hold a nude funeral- then that is how you show respect (or you don't go- and send a really nice bunch of flowers, or a donation to their favorite charity). Respect is meaningless if it's you imposing your ideas on others- especially at a time when they may be exploring ways to confront their grief. Respect is about giving something to someone else, even if you don't agree with them. If "respect" is all about you, and your ideas about what is "proper", then it is not respect- that's merely a selfish regard for your own cherished ideas. Really the opposite of respect, actually.
